will be in the Philippines diving, and also, the first Tuesday is right
after Labor Day and we probably would not have a good turn out. We will
have our next regular meeting on October 1st.
We had a very good ABALONE DIVE AND FEED. The weather was beautiful both
days, and the divers got into some really big abalone settlements. Just to
prove an old grandpa can still do it, Lloyd come up with three 9 inchers.
Unfortunately, Damian had an accident while diving and cut his finger so
badly that he had a very delicate surgical procedure yesterday. Even though
he is going on the trip to the Philippines, he will not dive. How fortunate
we are to have Karen Adams in the group, as she is a physical therapist, and
has the approval to start his therapy, or he would not be able to go. We are
glad he can go, and knowing how quickly Damian recovered from his foot
surgery earlier this year, who knows that he may not get in a few dives.
Depending on how Damian's hand heals, he is checking out students September
21 and 22 in Monterey, and will have a PUMPKIN Carving Contest on Saturday
afternoon. Bring your pumpkin, pay $5.00 to enter and winner takes the pot.
This can be a lot of fun, as cleaning your pumpkin underwater attracts a lot
of fish and critters.
Sports Cove has arranged for a Lobster Dive October 25, 26, and 27. It is
to the Channel Islands and will be on the CONCEPTION. Those of you that
have not been on one of these trips, it is a lot of fun and you can get in a
lot of diving. The food is always superb, and we have slots for 18, so come
by and sign up. Price is $499.00. We need a $200.00 deposit.
ANYONE interested in ALTITUDE DIVING, please contact Debbie 707-448-8529 as
she is going to be in Tahoe October 7-12.
Keep December 7 open as that is the date of the Christmas Party. More
details will follow.
